Combined class: Birth and Postpartum Massage: Mothering the New Mother (6 hours) and Infant Massage (6 hours) running back to back Tuesday and Wednesday for your complete 12-hours Hands-on NCBTMB-approved hours. Birth and Postpartum Massage: Mothering the New Mother (6 hours) Do you want to learn how massage therapists can aid the mother through her birth and postpartum journey? This class will cover techniques for reducing pain and supporting labor in and out of the hospital setting. Physiology of birth and postpartum will be covered. Role playing for practice of massage techniques during class will provide hands-on practice. A postpartum routine will be provided and practiced. This class focuses on aiding and supporting natural birth goals.

Infant Massage (6 hours) Do you want to learn about infant massage benefits and techniques? This class is a beginner-level class which will enable massage therapists to offer infant massage training to new parents who want to bond with their infants. The goal is to encourage parents to develop confident touch for bonding with and benefitting their infants. Therapists will be able to run a profitable infant massage class for parents. (Please note: training will be done on dolls)

Instructor Bio:

Adrienne Permar, LMT, BSc. completed over 4000 hours of massage therapy training in British Columbia, Canada. After working in spas and clinics in Vancouver, Canada for several years, she opened The Lymphatic Massage Clinic of Vancouver, where she worked with primarily cancer and surgery patients. She began teaching massage therapy in Vancouver in 2016, before moving to Washington State, where she taught anatomy and orthopedic treatment at Northwest Academy of the Healing Arts. At that time, she completed her training as a Doula and Childbirth Educator, as well as an Infant Massage Certificate. After relocating to Georgia, she founded Oconee School of Therapeutic Massage, where she directed entry-level education for massage therapists. She loves blending therapeutic effective treatment with relaxation techniques to provide balanced treatment. She is excited to share high quality continuing education courses at an affordable cost for LMT's in Georgia.
